The Parts |
There are many components that work together to allow the Nerf blaster system to function properly. Below is a list of the major components and their purpose in the design

These are the two covers that create the case for the internal components of the blaster. Without these, the blaster would be extremely difficult to use.
These are the various parts that make up the barrel assembly of the blaster. On the left are the pieces that keep the barrel assembly in place inside of the blaster and they prevent the barrel and cylinder from moving around during firing. On the bottom is the cylinder and barrel. The cylinder is a tube that air is pushed through into the barrel which causes the projectile to be shot from the barrel. the barrel simply adds accuracy by guiding the projectile and containing the air until the projectile has left the barrel. On the top right is the piston with the piston spring and locking mechanism. This entire mechanism allows the potential energy from the spring to be transferred into mechanical energy. The last object in the top center is an o-ringthat seals the piston to the cylinder to prevent air from escaping.
This is a picture of the laser inside the blaster. The laser allows for easier targeting and can even illuminate targets at close to medium ranges.
This is a picture of the dart holder inside of the blaster which allows for spare darts to be stored effectively and conveniently.
These are the triggers for the blaster. the larger trigger is the primary trigger which releases the catch mechanism that holds the piston spring in place. The smaller trigger is used to activate the laser sight.
These are the 7 screws that hold the two covers that form the case together.
Here are the batteries that power the laser. The batteries are stored inside the grip of the blaster. The orange cover plate that holds the batteries inside of the grip is also included in the photo.
